We are excited to announce we have moved our race to Eagle Bike Park. This venue allows us to put on a race for all trail users of all athletic abilities - Everyone is welcome!!
We are partnering with the United States Air Force Academy’s Idaho Parent Club on this inaugural event to raise funds our Military Working Dogs of the 366th Security Forces Squadron Mountain Home AFB. I hope you will join us in making this a successful event for our Military Working Dogs. Our MWD are a great asset to our military and receive very limited funding from the Department of Defense for their much needed supplies, kennels or training. With your help we can show them how we appreciate them!
These dogs finish their training at the Mountain Home AFB's kennel to deploy as military soldiers and for the United States Secret Service (USSS) protecting VIPs all over the world. They go through Dog Training School (DTS) consisting of: Basic Obedience Course (OB), Building Search, Scouting, Patrol work (attack portion) and finally with explosive and narcotic detection. Training is as close to real life military situations as possible. The MWD must be constant with all tasks in order to graduate. Once they graduate they and their Handler, an active military soldier or a member of the Secret Service, deploy per their military orders.
