Packet Pick Ups This Week

The Pulse Running & Fitness Shop is buzzing this week with packet pick ups for the busy upcoming race weekend. On Wednesday & Thursday (6/19-20) packets for the Silver City Endurance Runs will be available in store from 10 AM – 6 PM. SCER packets will include your shirts but NOT bib #s and the race website has all of the information pertaining to packet pickup, race check in, & drop bags.

For all of the Milk Runners out there, Meridian Dairy Days Milk Run race packets will be waiting for you at the Pulse Running & Fitness Shop on Friday (6/21) from 12 PM - 6 PM. Race day registration and packet pick up is also available at the Meridian Speedway starting at 7 AM. All Milk Run race info is available on this website and online registration can be found at spondoro.com.

Father’s Day Sale

The annual weekend celebrating all things “DAD” is here and in addition to all of the barbeques heating up we have some hot savings to honor all of the dads. This Friday through Sunday all in stock mens apparel is on sale at 30% off and all in stock mens running shoes are on sale at 20% off…hmmm…another boring tie or a comfortable new singlet? Another can of shoe polish or some sleek new running kicks? Stop in this weekend and let us help get dad taken care of.

SWIMBA Trail Rendezvous

TRAIL AFICIONADOS UNITE !!!

Here is a large fund raising event we’re joining this month at the Eagle Bike Park and we would love to see everyone out there with us. It’s called the STR or SWIMBA Trail Rendezvous and is happening on June 22nd from 3 PM – 9 PM. The event will feature live music, group bike rides & trail runs, games, a large vendor area with bike shops, a local running shop (guess who :) ), local restaurants, etc.. Sockeye will be setting up a beer garden and selling the beer they’ve brewed for us called “Trail Digger Ale” with all proceeds going to SWIMBA to help purchase a trail building machine. To learn more about SWIMBA and there massive contributions to the local trail scene, check out their website. They are also on Facebook with constant updates for all trail enthusiasts. This is going to be one dirty party you don’t want to miss!!!

The Eagle Bike Park (Eagle Sports Complex) is located on Old Horseshoe Bend Road just north of its intersection with Floating Feather Road…we often refer to it as the Velodrome.

Kinesiology Taping Clinic with Dr. Ryan Griffeth

On Thursday, May 16th at 6:00 PM, Dr. Ryan Griffeth from Performance & Rehabilitation Chiropractic will be at the Pulse Running & Fitness Shop conducting a workshop on how kinesiology tape can help prevent and treat the most common running injuries. We will be doing free demos of Spidertech kinesiology taping (while supplies last); Rocktape is available in store and you are also welcome to bring your own if you’d like some advice on how to get the most out of it. If you have tried kinesiology tape before and have not seen the benefits, this is a great opportunity for some hands on advice from one of the best local pros. Its also no coincidence that the clinic is just in time for some last minute touch ups before the Famous Potato Races next weekend.

Meridian Dairy Days Milk Run 2013

Distance: 1 Mile or 5k Fun Run

Where: The Meridian Speedway 335 S Main, Meridian

When: Saturday June 22nd, Events start at 8AM!

The Milk Run is BACK as part of the Merdian Dairy Days this year!!  You have the choice of running a 1 mile or 5k distance both starting and finishing on the famous Meridian Speedway track.  The emphasis on this race is FUN!!

This year we want to motivate kids and their families to come out and participate while helping our Meridian Schools at the same time.  Every person who registers to run can sign up under a school of their choice.  The school with the most kids signed up will receive $150.00 from The Pulse Running & Fitness Shop.  Every school that gets 50+ people to sign up will receive $50.00 from The Pulse Running & Fitness Shop. The United Dairymen of Idaho will be on hand handing out milk post race!!

Watchman FKT

NEW FKT Course and Contest

Its that time of year again!!! The Spring colors are taking over the foothills and the May FKT fun is under way. Because of the incredible beauty over the Watchman (trail) area during this season, the Watchman FKT & photo contest is back again this year. The run hike is a 6 mile loop along 5 Mile Gulch (creek), with ridge traversing over Watchman, and short stints on trail #6 and 3 Bears.

The “Funnest Known Time” really takes over in this contest, and while we will be rewarding the fastest mens and womens performances as usual, all entries must be submitted with a photo taken over the course. 2013 Idaho Trail Ultra Series

The 2013 ITUS (Idaho Trail Ultra Series) is well under way; the early season events are finished up and the Summer runs are quickly approaching. Check out the upcoming opportunities to run in the mountains near Silver City and McCall, both with multiple distance options to entice everyone to these distinctly Idaho trail running destinations. The entire 2013 series calendar is available at the ITUS website along with registration links, individual race websites, and tons of series info…including participant series point totals and standings (the action is about to heat up)…here is a quick link for the 2013 series points.

MCHAT 5K Run4Fun

Not running Robie this year? Still looking for something to run on Robie day? How about the Middleton Coordinated Health Action Team 5K!!!

THE WHEN, WHERE, AND WHY
Saturday April 20, 2013, 9:00 am, Middleton Middle School,
511 W. Main St., Middleton Id 83644. The Run4Fun will begin
at 9:00 am. This run is strictly for your own enjoyment.
COURSE DESCRIPTION
The course will begin and end at the Middleton Middle School track and will take you by two city parks, two schools, and through various neighborhoods along the way. Some areas are non-paved.
REGISTRATION AND FEE
Pre-registration closes Thursday April 18th. Pre-registration fee
is $10.00 with a family cap of $30.00 for families of 3 or more.
Late or race day registration fee is $15.00 with a family cap of
$45.00 for families of 3 or more. Pre-registration forms can be
mailed to the provided address or dropped off in person. Day
of race registration will be held on Saturday between 8:00 am
and 8:45 am at Middleton Middle School.
RACE NUMBER AND BAG PICK-UP
Race numbers/bags will not be mailed. Packets can be picked up
from 10-4 pm on April 19th at the Middleton Middle School
Auxiliary Gymnasium.
